Description
Summary:Social responsibility theory addresses how and to what degree the actions of individuals, governments, and organizations help to improve society. Social responsibility is demonstrated in a variety of situations. In addition to the government's role in promoting institutions that provide societal benefits, individuals, and business organizations also play significant roles. As an example, social responsibility is being demonstrated when individuals recycle or give to others in need, when businesses contribute to charities and improve their employees' quality of work life, and when governments create programs to move people out of poverty. Although much of the business and popular press deal with corporate social responsibility, all three types reinforce one another and contribute to societal improvement.
