Description
Summary:Metaphors are used as a reflective teaching tool in leadership education. This case prompts students to reflect on a metaphor that represents their ideal self as a leader. This case also provides students with the opportunity to reflect on five images drawn from the following four categories: (1) objects, (2) structures, (3) animals, and (4) people. Students will be asked to reflect on how the five images shed light on leadership. From this reflection, students should be able to grasp certain leadership concepts more clearly and to also appreciate the nuances and intricacies of leadership. The specific leadership concepts related to the images and metaphors are inclusive leadership, Blake and Mouton's leadership grid, servant leadership, inclusive leadership, and team leadership.
