The social enterprise ceased to exist in 2006 for want of leadership and long-term strategic planning. Now Mr. Pillai feels that the prevailing economic and social conditions of the state are conducive for organizations such as this one, and he is trying to determine the appropriate business model to run START as a professional social organization.
