This case study will explore the impact of COVID-19 on meatpacking industries in regions around the world and the role of emerging technologies such as traceability and regenerative meat in helping mitigate future challenges within the food supply chain. Students will be asked to apply concepts used in the study to identify food supply chains critical to their region, list the main challenges that the regional and the global meatpacking industries are facing today, and discuss the ways in which technology can help address these challenges. |
