Description
Summary:In a blow to labor organizers, a vote to unionize workers to improve working conditions at an Amazon fulfillment center in Bessemer, Alabama was found to be unsuccessful in early April. Both before and during the vote, Amazon engaged in aggressive union-busting tactics that at times seemed to cross ethical lines-leaving workers hopeful that unionizing efforts at other Amazon facilities will be successful. This case reviews the vote at the Bessemer facility and asks students to assess Amazon's anti-union strategy and project what workers might do next.
