Summary:	Ping An Health, the leading company in the digital health sector in China, allows patients to experience one-stop online consultation services, including disease diagnosis, drug sales and delivery, insurance repayment, and follow-up checks, using their online platform. Although the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated policy support and accelerated the maturation of the digital health sector in China, Ping An Health has entered an unsatisfactory financial situation, with a CNY 948.5 million net loss in 2020. This net loss is associated with the aggressive strategy in channels expansion and optimizing the professional network, contributed to 65.6% of the Ping An Health adjusted loss. Because the payback period of medical services is moderately long-range, investor confidence is weak. To retrieve market confidence, management should reconsider the assumptions behind their strategies and devise alternative strategies that increase the company's earning points and decrease further expenditure. This case encourages students to gain familiarity with the industrial landscape of digital health, basic electronic business models, and the concept of financialization. Furthermore, students are asked to assess Ping An Health's strategic positioning and formulate suggestions for its potential post-Covid strategic upgrades.
