Description
Summary:The owners of a travel and tourism company in Cusco, Peru face a dilemma. They support ecotourism initiatives and gender equality. Their brand new company will employ porters to accompany tourists on strenuous hikes. For many decades, only men have worked as tourist porters across Cusco. To become more inclusive, the owners have decided to build a team of female porters. As per regulations, women are allowed to carry lesser weight compared with men. The owners are unsure how the women porters will be compensated. Will they be paid the same wage as men or will it be less? Because they will be carrying less, hiring women increases the operational costs of the business. Can the owners build a profitable business while still being inclusive?
