Summary:In order to rapidly respond to new business environments and external changes, Beijing Aquarium took digital transformation as its strategic core. First, it established the Office of Standardization, conducting standardized transformation of all business processes including human resource management. After, the human resources department began to select suppliers, and finally decided to choose Company S, an internationally renowned system supplier. However, after digitization, it turned out that the operation result was not as successful as expected. The system design was complicated, which made it difficult for users to operate independently. And more importantly, the management aspect of the system was not suitable for the aquarium. The aquarium resolutely gave up these two subsystems, terminating cooperation with the Company S. The aquarium collaborated with the local supplier, E-road company. Jointly working should-by shoulder, all subsystems were successfully launched, and the digital transformation was completed. In the following months, the operation of system has enabled the aquarium to earn money and become profitable again. The digital transformation of human resources management, together with other business, has made contributions to the successful breakthrough of Beijing Aquarium during the epidemic. The May Day holiday in 2022 is a test for Beijing Aquarium. By September 2021, the digital transformation of its human resources management has been completed. After the implementation, the employees of Aquarium have been reduced from over 300 to 170 around by April 2022. This May Day holiday is the first peak of tourists pouring into the Aquarium. With limited number of employees, can the receptions and operations go smoothly?Since the outbreak of the global Epidemic in early 2020, the operation of Beijing Aquarium has been heavily affected. In order to reduce costs, the decision-makers of the company requested that the human resources department should reduce the number of employees. Besides, the digital system has to be launched. These are tough jobs. The reforms began in the early 2018, there are many happenings in the process. After launching into the online system, some subsystems became overthrown. In addition, the suppliers have to be replaced due to appropriate services. By September 2021, the digital system has been managed well. After the stabilization of digitalization, the HRM activities can be managed well, such as the position structure becomes clear, the productivity of employees has been raised steadily. as successfully launched finally. After that, the system operated smoothly, and the post structure and the number of employees were gradually optimized. On May Day holiday, tourists were eager to visit the Aquarium due to the freedom from the launching epidemic. Can employees cope with the situations? Li Chengwen, who is the deputy general manager of the human resources department and also the project manager of human resources management digitization, were anxious and worried.As expected, the Aquarium was packed with visitors on the May Day.
