| Summary: | The case study examines the information, communication, and technology (ICT) sector of the Southeast Asian country Nepal and analyzes one online grocery service company, Kirana, operating in the e-commerce industry. Kirana is a business-to-consumer (B2C) e-grocer operating in the e-commerce industry by fulfilling consumers' requirements for essentials. It acts as an alternative to physical grocery stores by allowing its targeted customers inside Kathmandu Valley to order with convenience. The company takes orders mainly through its online platforms or calls, providing consumers with 4,000 different products. Kirana regularly interacts with consumers through social media platforms to provide them with offers and updates on pricing that they can take advantage of. However, the slow-growing ICT sector, the increased competition caused by physical stores switching online, and the need for an interactive website prevent the company from operating at its full potential. Nevertheless, Kirana can flourish in the e-commerce industry by exploiting gaps in the market. |
