Description
Summary:The case explores the growth challenges experienced by Bada Business, an Educational Technology company in India that had the most subscribed YouTube channel in the world in the field of entrepreneurship and business education. Vivek Bindra, founder and CEO of Bada Business, intended to create an alternative business education platform for entrepreneurs who could not afford expensive business education, including both individuals and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Contrary to other business education programs offered in English, Bindra offered Bada Business in Hindi (India's national language). Bada Business is India's largest and most preferred online entrepreneurship education resource. However, Bindra faced several growth challenges, such as poor internet quality and limited access in rural areas. The inadequate supply of electricity in non-Hindi-speaking regions of India was also an issue. Then competition from other startups such as the Businessjeeto.com program was also increasing. How should Bindra sustain Bada Business's competitive advantage? How can Bindra succeed in empowering the bottom of the pyramid entrepreneurs? How can he make Bada Business the most trusted source of entrepreneurship education for MSMEs? The case encourages students to explore how new business opportunities are created for the poor segment of society and how to target the bottom of the pyramid segment in B2B markets. It also helps students to understand ways to resolve growth challenges.
