Summary:	This case focuses on Phone2Action, a leading technology company promoting civic participation and stakeholder engagement. The company was founded by Chilean-American Ximena Hartsock and American Jeb Ory to help citizens more easily contact their elected officials. They built a platform that allows people to speak up on issues important to them in order to effect change. This multi-channel platform, Phone2Action, helps organizations engage with supporters, employees, customers, and other stakeholders and empower them to communicate with policymakers at local, state, national, and international levels via email, Twitter, Facebook, and patch-through calling. The platform also provides organizations and individuals the tools they need to reach and engage supporters, enabling them to take action on issues that are important to them. This case examines what drives and enables the success of Phone2Action in terms of technology, strategy, and outreach as well as the challenges it faces and its outlook for the future. The primary goal of the case is to introduce students to emerging business opportunities in the use of technology in advocacy work and to make them aware of the importance of the contributions of immigrants to the local economy.
