Description
Summary:Grounded theory is an approach for analyzing qualitative data inductively and building a theory from rich textual data, that is, from the "ground" up. Inductive reasoning refers to a data-driven approach rather than using definitive constructs or a hypothesis. Grounded theory originated in the 1960s with the work of Barney Glaser and Anselm Strauss (The Discovery of Grounded Theory, 1967). "Basic" grounded theory refers to generic grounded theory and specifies general approaches for moving from nuanced and copious data to increasingly abstract conceptualizations. The dataset files are accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide.
