Summary:The authenticity of a randomized control trial lies in its methodology. The process of a randomized control trial weaves through various steps such as randomization, allocation, blinding, intervention, follow-up, and analysis. This study throws light into practical methods by which to maintain methodological accuracy in these steps. Stress is given to the various practical aspects encountered during the implementation of the various steps of the study. The study teaches how to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention and prevent follow-up bias. CONSORT Guidelines are also introduced, and methods on how to incorporate them into a randomized control trial are discussed. It throws light on operative methods to overcome the ethical considerations faced in a randomized control trial.
