| Summary: | This dataset is designed for teaching how to prepare online interview text for analysis using four steps: (1) revising the automated transcription; (2) editing; (3) preparing the text for initial coding; and (4) proofreading. The data are provided by Dr Nada Elnahla and Dr Leighann C. Neilson from the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, and are drawn from a series of interviews conducted online on the Zoom platform between Summer 2020 and Winter 2021 for a PhD dissertation research. The three chosen examples focus on the work environment of brick-and-mortar retail workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and how they are dealing with different stressors. This dataset is most useful for qualitative researchers interested in online interviewing. The dataset and the accompanying step-by-step guide can be used in a classroom setting (in-person or online) or can form the basis of an independent work exercise. The dataset files are accompanied by a teaching guide and a student guide. |
