Description
Summary:Does hanging out with interesting people, drinking coffee, and listening to their stories sound like something up your street? Are you also capable of dealing with uncertainty of plans, possible exclusion from a group, and challenges in triangulating and writing up research findings from a wealth of data? If yes, then become an ethnographer! My case study highlights some issues to consider when conducting in the field data collection for an ethnographical study in politics. More specifically, I will discuss my personal experience of exploring stakeholder experiences of European health strategy governance in Brussels. Through examples, I will draw attention to creating rigorousness in ethnography through ethical consideration, sound data collection, and valuable contribution to knowledge.
