This body of work set about demonstrating the local accomplishment and social construction of scientific knowledge. This entry begins by providing an overview of the ways in which laboratory ethnography has emerged in relation to STS and considers some of these early classic examples in more detail. It then discusses some scholarship written since the millennium on laboratory ethnography and the methodological issues they raise.
