Summary:Gary Alan Fine (b. 1950) is a sociologist of culture, social theorist, social psychologist, and folklorist, as well as a James E. Johnson Professor of Sociology at Northwestern University. Through his interdisciplinary scientific orientation, he introduced theoretical and methodological innovations in sociological and folklore research. Fields of his research include the study of various aspects of sociological miniaturism, culture, and interactive behaviour of small groups within modern postindustrial societies.
