Summary:This dataset is designed for teaching about the ?2 (eta squared) coefficient. The dataset is a subset of data derived from Do Social Rights Affect Social Outcomes? (2015), and the example decomposes the variance of the Gini coefficient sequentially into three effects: (1) government type (communist, post-communist, other), (2) country within government type, and (3) year (1960-2010) and report ?2 for each effect and overall. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a How-to Guide for Stata.
