| Summary: | This retrospective evaluation study used secondary data sources to measure the impact of a Central Venous Access Device education program for nurses. The aim of the study was to find links between the delivered education program and direct patient care and clinical practice as a measurement of success. Using a range of data sets such as infection incidences, 2 × care audit results, and education attendees feedback, the efficacy of the program is accessed over a 2-year period within one clinical care group. The challenges of using secondary data sources, coping with missing data and unexpected findings, are discussed. |
