Description
Summary:The aim of this case is to summarize and present the research methods used to translate, validate, and determine the psychometric properties for a psychological instrument. Robust and valid instruments are necessary for researchers to obtain better results. This case study describes the process of translating a psychological scale, and the use of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and multigroup analysis of invariance to determine the factorial structure of the scale. Also, readers will find a comparison of the results of different studies that assessed the psychometric properties of the instrument in different cultures. In addition, this case study also presents the difficulties that arose during the research and our strategies used to analyze the psychometric properties of the scale.
