Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the method of data collection changed from in-depth in-person interviews to in-depth interviews conducted online using the Zoom platform. Online interviews as an online method of data collection are a viable alternative when time, financial restrictions, or geographical boundaries limit an investigation. However, there are technical and logistical requirements required from both the researcher and the participant. Thus, clear communication, verbal and nonverbal, is required at all stages of the process. This study presents the advantages, disadvantages, and recommendations for using online interview methods for research.
