Description
Summary:The need to administrate experiments online is rising due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which brings both challenges and opportunities. However, the field of online experimental research design is still in its infancy. This case study elaborates on the experiences and decision-making process that guided an online experimental research project. First, the project background is introduced, and then a detailed online experimental design is described. Subsequently, this case study outlines the process and method used to adopt face-to-face lab research to an online platform . In addition, this case study describes some of the challenges that arose, including internet interruptions, a lack of cooperation among participants, obstacles obtaining ethical approval, and the inability to control the context in which the research was being carried out. This case study will then illustrate several strategies that could potentially prevent and minimize these difficulties. Specifically, this case study emphasizes the need to establish a backup plan, draft IRB amendments, control the environment, and communicate with participants in a transparent manner.
