Description
Summary:This case study focuses on the challenges and possibilities that a transition from face-to-face to virtual interviews posed for the researchers. The focus of the research was to examine the experiences of African American and Latina college students in fitness with attention to the intersections of race and gender. The initial research plan included face-to-face interviews. However, the shelter-in-place orders and the transition to remote operations due to COVID-19 resulted in a move to virtual interviews. This case study reflects the challenges and possibilities of the virtual interviews. Given the sensitivity of the focal topic, attention is provided to key aspects of the data collection journey that puzzled the researchers. The case study concludes with recommendations for future research.
