Description
Summary:This dataset offers strategies for analyzing written artifacts. The author collected these artifacts at research sites in which young children write (e.g., at home, at school). Referred to as "contextual relational analysis," the analysis relies upon understanding the contexts of written artifacts, the relationships within those contexts, and the influences of both of those upon the functions of written pieces. Although the dataset uses artifacts from a young writer (before and during kindergarten), the analysis is applicable to many other settings and types of written documents. The dataset files are accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide.
