Description
Summary:This dataset is provided as a step-by-step guide to a worked through example of analysing semi-structured interviews. In particular, the example is designed for teaching the process of conducting a hermeneutic phenomenological analysis. Data are provided by Dr. Simon Wharne, taken from anonymised transcripts of recorded interviews, which were analysed under the supervision of the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, Middlesex University, UK. The interviews explore how mental health practitioners understand and experience resilience. Examples from different levels of analysis are provided, illustrating the process of drawing meaning from transcripts, revealing each participant's experience, by opening these experiences as possibilities in the lifeworld of the reader. The dataset files are accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide.
