Description
Summary:The case study provides an analysis of the development of exploratory sequential mixed- methods research into issues of equal opportunities in the form of a cultural audit. The research was constructed from first principles, and the various stages are presented in detail. At the cornerstone was the construction and implementation of a questionnaire given to all members of the organization. This was premised upon and complemented by a wide range of other methods. These included interviews, focus groups, and documentary research. Some of the questions used were taken from earlier national surveys, and these facilitated the triangulation of the results of the cultural audit with known national patterns of values and attitudes. The case study also outlines how the cultural audit provided powerful instruments for effective human resources management.
