| Summary: | Conducting observational studies in dynamic health care settings is a difficult task. This is not only related to the ethical principles that the researcher has to be responsive to, but it is also about how to render a researcher's situated observation and subjective interpretation more plausible for the research team and the larger audience. In this study, one creative method to increase the validity of the themes derived from observations was to develop vignettes and conduct focus-group interviews. These vignette-based focus-group discussions proved to be useful in refining and adjusting the results of the study. |
