Description
Summary:Patient experience with psychotropic medications is an important and impactful part of the patient's overall care, but it has not been extensively explored. Photovoice is an approach to studying patient experience that views the patient as the expert and seeks to equip the patient to capture his or her lived experience visually, using photographs and reflection, so that it can be shared with others. Use of Photovoice is fruitful and rewarding, but also presents important considerations for the researcher. This case study provides insight into how a team of researchers employed Photovoice to explore medication experience with psychotropic medications.
