| Summary: | This case study demonstrates how I developed and applied "autopsychography" to explore my post-submission experience (the period between the submission of the PhD thesis and the final viva). The discussion combines the theoretical framework and methodological features of the methodology as well as its practical application. As a methodology rooted in humanistic psychology, autoethnography is intrinsically heuristic and stresses the process of exploring and shaping creative paths to recreate one's lived experience. It stresses "care" as an ethical dimension and the incorporation of artistic forms in the process of creating and presenting data. I will introduce the specific decisions and nuances in trailing "oral diary" and "found poem." The case study implies that autopsychography in real-world settings often demands methodological improvisation. It provides a creative methodological framework to explore one's lived experience, in particular, when it comes to underresearched topics. In future studies, one can also consider integrating a collaborative element into autopsychographic research to further expand its creative territory and quality. |
