Description
Summary:This dataset is designed for teaching the test for heteroscedasticity following a linear regression analysis. The dataset is a subset of data derived from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 1998-99 (ECLSK) at the National Center for Education Statistics. The example estimates a simple regression model of whether math performance in kindergarten predicts reading performance in kindergarten. After performing the regression, it shows how to examine the results for evidence of heteroscedasticity. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide, a Student Guide, and a How-to Guide for Stata. The Student Guide and data curation were done by the Odum Institute, and the How-to Guide was co-authored by Abigail-Kate Reid and Nick Allum.
