The study focuses on prejudice toward individuals of Mexican descent and the extent to which favorable contact reduces prejudice over time. It highlights the processes of generating ideas for research and pays specific attention to using class research papers and assignments for developing ideas. The challenges of recruiting for a field study compared to recruiting from a university setting are discussed. This case also presents some of the challenges faced with identifying the best way to analyze the data and presents a brief discussion of multivariate analysis of variance and mediation analysis.
