Description
Summary:Research examining intimate partner violence among sexual minority groups is limited. Existing research indicates that sexual minority groups such as young men who have sex with men experience intimate partner violence at rates similar to heterosexual women; however, no evidence-based programs addressing this issue have been addressed for sexual minority groups. This limited research impacts our ability to develop effective and meaningful prevention/intervention programs for these at-risk populations. This case study provides insight into how to design a small-scale project that integrates both qualitative and quantitative approaches in understanding the dynamics of intimate partner violence within relationships of young men who have sex with men. Lessons learned about this approach are provided to aid subsequent scholars in this work.
