Image of Neptune in his chariot drawn by four rearing hippocampi, with his tritons he is about to charge at a naval battle in the background, just off the shore of a maritime fortified harbor. Above them from a parting in the clouds, a winged soldier and an angel with a trumpet and banner carry the title. The frame around the picture includes the crest of France, Neptune's mermen, the Sun symbol of the French king. |
