Description
Abstract:	A study of offshore commercial shrimp populations in Texas and Louisiana waters was conducted during 1961 and 1962. Seasonal abundance, distribution, and size composition are described for brown (penaeus aztecus), white (R. setiferus), and pink shrimp (R. duorarum). Spawning seasons and areas, determined from histological examination of 9,424 ovarian slides, are delineated. Of particular interest was the obser- vation that brown shrimp apparently spawn throughout the year at depths of 64 m to 110 m.
