This map was commissioned by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas to commemorate the anniversary of the state's revolution, in celebration of a century of independence.
Shows historic sites and routes of Texas.
Includes cartouche with Texas pledge, flag, and seal; Texas State Capitol "Four hundred years of history".
Surrounding the map are nine large portraits of important heroes of the Texas Revolution: Stephen F. Austin (Father of Texas); Mirabeau Lamar (Father of Education); Anson Jones (Architect of Annexation); Colonel James Fannin (Commander at Goliad); Ben Milam (Who will go with Old Ben Milam into San Antonio); Colonel David Crockett (Hero of the Alamo); Colonel William Barret Travis (Commander of the Alamo); Deaf Smith (Texas Scout ); and General Sam Houston (Savior of Texas).
