Item Description:	"111"--bottom right, verso. "Cum privilegio." Detached from the Latin edition of Theatrum orbis terrarum, 1579. Includes illustrations: 5 sailing vessels, a sea monster, nautical symbols and second cartouche with text describing the region. Relief shown pictorially. Shows the desert route taken by the wandering Jews after the Exodus from Egypt across the Red Sea, numbers along the path indicate the time spent to complete the journey. The Cushing Library copy is part of the Ronald L. and V. Jane Woellhof Rare Map Collection. This is the second of three variants of the Palestine map of Ortelius. Title in cartouche.
