Description
Abstract:Allozymic variation at 20 loci determined by isozyme electrophoresis was examined for 10 populations of Peromyscus maniculatus including a total of 159 specimens representing 3 subspecies and 5 ecotypes ranging from Baja California to Oregon. Electrophoretic data reveal that although populations of P. maniculatus exhibit considerable genic polymorphism, there is a high degree of genetic similarity between all populations. This high degree of similarity suggests that gene flow between the populations is not inhibited.
