| Item Description: | Relief shown pictorially. Third Earth is the refugee homeworld for the Thundercats, a cartoon group of cat-like humanoid aliens originally from a planet called Thundera. Third Earth is located in the Milky Way Galaxy, and is the third planet in order from the star it orbits. Various locations of interest encountered by the protagonists are illustrated and labeled on the map, including Castle Plun-Darr, the Onyx Period of Mumm-Ra, and the Cats' Lair. Issued in 6 numbered parts as centerfold pull-outs in issues of weekly "Thundercats" no.30 (1987:Oct.10) to no.35 (1987:Nov.14). The Cushing Library/Science Fiction copy is part of the Maps of Imaginary Places Collection. The Cushing Library/Science Fiction collection also holds the original 6 issues from which the maps detached; plus 2 additional issues (no.28 (1987:Sept.26) and no.29 (1987:Oct.3). |
