| Abstract: | The purpose of this study is to test the theory of subsystem politics, developed at the national government level, in three policy areas: agriculture, education, and transportation in the state of Nevada's House for the 1979 legislative session. The study contained three phases of analysis: (1) determination of the relevant actors in the subsystems; (2) participants in agenda setting in committees; and (3) effects of cooperation/conflict on committee decisions. In so doing, the research reveals several characteristics of subsystems in all three policy areas. |
