Description
Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to report on tests of properties of selected fiber materials and scintillation oils for their use in a liquid scintillating fiber calorimeter at the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC). The particular properties of interest are: 1) internal reflection angle (TIR), 2) light yield and 3) attenuation length. From these properties we can calculate the energy resolution of a calorimeter at 4 GeV with the components tested.
