Niall Kenny, bookseller, description: Very scarce. The image of the sole of a horse’s foot at the top of the page has some text underneath not in the 1st edition, “In hoc signo vinces”. The printer, William Peart, was active from roughly 1817-1846, but he did print a number of Bracy Clark’s early works from c. 1818. The earliest imprints of 1818 have an early address of Northampton Street, Clerkenwell, and it is probable he moved to Smithfield Bars in c. 1820 Printed floral border. |
