Description
Summary:A response [draft?] from two prominent SDS - later Weather Underground - members to Warren Hinckle and his sister Marianne's article, "A History of the Rise of the Unusual Movement for Women Power in the United States, 1961-1968" in the February 1968 issue of Ramparts magazine. Jaffe and Dohrn appear to take umbrage over "Ramparts' success in making a commodity out of politics" and outline their position on women power, which they define as "the power to destroy a destructive system by refusing to play the part(s) assigned to us by it - by refusing to accept its definition of us as passive consumers, and by actively subverting the institutions which create and enforce that definition". When submitted this response as a letter for publication by Ramparts, the editors declined to run it.
