Description
Abstract:There are several methods of procedure in attacking the soil erosion problem. Some methods effective under certain conditions are useless elsewhere. Each locality has individual perculiarities which require special treatments. Terracing in some instances has been found the most practical and effective means of controlling soil losses by erosion; in other conditions, terraces may be either useless or contributing factors to greater erosion damage. Under all conditions, vegetation plays an important part in preventing soils from being washed away.
