|a The second of three volumes reporting the efforts of scientists and engineers involved with the NASA Crustal Dynamics Project (CDP), an unprecedented global venture, initiated in the early 1980s, which exploited new technologies to confirm and refine tectonic theories and to advance geodynamics. The papers in the present volume discuss the significant scientific results of the CDP in earth dynamics. Among the topics addressed are variations in the orientation of the earth; development of a conventional terrestrial reference frame; and contributions of water mass redistribution to polar motion excitation.
