Includes a transcript of Brown's prison letter from Parish Prison, New Orleans, dated 2/21/68, in which he announces his hunger strike and states that the struggle must enter an aggressive phase; this sheet is stapled to a press release from SNCC dated two days later, calling Brown's imprisonment "honky justice" and warning that if he is not freed, "We will hold every honky in America responsible and blacks will start collecting all the dues that white America owes." Also two mimeographed sheets: "Background information" on Brown, and a March 12, 1968 SNCC press release announcing March 20 as a day of support for Brown and "the Black liberation struggle in the United States!!!". |
