Description
Summary:"New Treasure Island" is an adventure action drama featuring a boy's adventure at sea. One day a boy named Pete finds a map of "Treasure Island" that his deceased father left behind. Inspired by his father's stories, Pete launches a voyage to find it together with "Captain," who was a friend of his father. But his ship is attacked by marauding pirates, led by the terrible, one-arm and one-leg pirate captain named Boar, and the two are caught. When a storm hits the pirate ship, the two are thrown into the sea and washed up on the shore of a remote island in the southern ocean. To their surprise, they have landed on the long lost Treasure Island. Will Pete and Captain survive? Will they find the treasure? Their thrilling and incredible adventures continue. New Treasure Island and the beginning of the Modern Manga Era Originally titled Shin Takarajima(Japanese) or as we know it, New Treasure Island(English) is a Japanese manga by Sakai Shichima and Osamu Tezuka that was serialized in 1947. It is the first of Tezuka's manga to be published in tankōbon form. The series is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's 1883 novel Treasure Island. When the series was collected and published as a tankōbon, it would quickly sell over 400,000 copies.
