Description
Summary:Proclamation by the governor of Durango against General Mariano Paredes y Arrillaga, who had pronounced himself in December against the central Mexican government of the liberal president José Joaquín Herrera, during whose mandate Texas had been annexed to the Unibed States. Paredes claimed that the government had not released the funds necessary for the retaking of Texas. However, as the governor points out, instead of marching against Texas, Paredes was heading against Mexico City where Herrera was eventually deposed and Paredes became president.
