Summary:Documentary short that elevates middle school students' voices at the Center School, a boldly independent and startlingly upbeat public middle school in New York City that is built on the philosophy that how a child learns is as important as what a child learns. Created to change the narrative of early adolescence as a negative time, this film features 5th-8th-graders, who share almost all classes at the school. This film was created as part of a larger MIDDLE SCHOOLERS documentary project, developed in conjunction with child development experts, psychologists, researchers and teacher educators.
