By the late Right Honourable Henry St. John, Lord Viscount Bolingbroke" and "A letter addressed to Alexander Pope, Esq. by the late Right Honourable Henry St. John, Lord Viscount Bolingbroke" each have divisional half-title on leaves X1 recto and 2D4 recto respectively; pagination and register continuous throughout. Another issue of the same year bears the imprint: "printed for A. Millar". Part printed by William Bowyer; his records show 5000 copies of the edition printed in total. Preliminary half-title leaf: "A letter to Sir William Windham. Written in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventeen, By the late Right Honourable Henry St. John, Lord Viscount Bolingbroke". Signatures: A-2K⁸ 2L². The plate is an engraved frontispiece portrait of the author. With a letter in French: "From the Earl of Stair, His Majesty's embassador at Paris, to James Craggs junior Esq.
