Summary:A canceled first-day-of-issue postage stamp and envelope issued in conjunction with that year’s New York City Pride events. The cancel features the Heritage of Pride logo designed by Keith Haring. The printed design (cachet) is based on a design for Paul Hennefeld's exhibit 'Alternative Lifestyles of Famous People' that was shown at stamp shows during in the late 1980s and early 1990s featuring images of gays on postage stamps. The stamp is a 25 cent "love" with an image of a single pink rose (originally issued 1988). This is the first ever gay-related U.S. Post Office cancellation.
